Back in July, FBI director James Comey recommended that the Department of Justice press no charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state. However, Comey did pointedly take a public moment to scold her as “extremely careless.”
A new twist has arrived. Comey announced on Friday that the FBI will be looking into newly discovered Clinton emails. The messages appear to be relevant to an unrelated case, and the bureau will “determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.” He gave no timeline on when the FBI will make their determinations, so who knows if this will happen before the election.
Comey’s letter, which you can see here, contained the following excerpts:

“In previous congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton’s personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony.
“In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.”

Following the FBI’s initial recommendations on Clinton’s email server, the State Department quickly reopened the probe on their end, but that matter is still tied up in Congress (where GOP members have accused the State Department of stonewalling). So, along with these new Clinton messages going under FBI scrutiny, it looks like Hillary’s emails will be the scandal that shall never end.

On Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton celebrated her 69th birthday at an Adele concert at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. And while the British superstar took a moment out of her performance to endorse the Democratic nominee, not everyone was impressed. In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Donald Trump has made it painfully clear that he doesn’t approve of Clinton’s concert outing.
Stephanopoulos asked Trump how he feels about criticism that he spends a great deal of time at Trump Tower rather than hitting the ground hard in battleground states. Trump felt that the sentiment was “unfair” because Clinton went to the Tuesday Adele concert and everyone simply (as he sees it) raved, “Isn’t that wonderful?'” He continued:

“I built one of the great hotels of the world. What am I supposed to do, not show up? I’m taking one hour off, I’m going to North Carolina right after this, then I’m going back down to Florida, I’m going up to New Hampshire. I’m all over the place. But I can’t take one hour off to cut a ribbon at one of the great hotels of the world? I mean, I think I’m entitled to it. She goes, she does one stop because she has no energy. She’s got nothing going. She does one stop. And nobody complains about that. Nobody complains when she goes to an Adele concert all night long, while I’m making two speeches at rallies with, you know, massive crowds.”

As Think Progress’ Judd Legum was quick to point out on Twitter, Trump himself is a big fan of Adele. Just last year, in fact, the real estate mogul attended an Adele concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York. He’s also been known to play her songs at his rallies.
Maybe the Republican nominee for president is salty because Adele told her audience to vote for Clinton. “I am English, but what happens in America affects me too,” the singer told the crowd. “I am 100 percent for Hillary Clinton. I love her, she’s amazing.”

While speaking to Miami radio station Hot 105 on Wednesday, Hillary Clinton addressed how heath care premiums have grown too high, but she believes they would be worse if Donald Trump had his way. Clinton’s comments after news that Obamacare premiums will increase 25 percent next year.
Over the past few days, Obamacare’s seen renewed criticism over how premium hikes affect the middle class, who largely cannot take advantage of subsidies. Bill Clinton said the program requires fixes while Donald Trump said his employees are having difficulties associated with the program (although he backtracked a bit from that statement). Still, others are worried they won’t have access to the coverage because of the hefty price tag. Clinton said she is aware of these concerns and will work to resolve them:

“Well, we’re going to make changes to fix problems like that. The president and I have talked about it, and look, this is a major step forward: 20 million people. And actually, I’m sure you noticed, predominantly working people, African American, Latino people now have access to insurance, but the costs have gone up too much.”

Clinton said, if elected, she would work on reducing premiums and look at prescription drug costs. But she is more concerned about what Trump is going to do to the health insurance marketplace if elected. Trump has decried Obamacare on the campaign trail, saying, like other Obama policies, he would repeal them within his first 100 days in office. He hasn’t offered a rebuttal of what his plan is all about, but remember he likes to keep people in suspense. Clinton said Trump’s plan of dismantling the current marketplace could be catastrophic:

“That’s the plan of my opponent — take everything away, give it all back to the insurance companies. And if you think costs have gone up with the recent weeks, it’ll just skyrocket up because insurance companies will be in charge again.”

Whoever comes out on top November 8, they will have a full plate to deal with, including the healthcare marketplace.
